Garnet Carbuncle Mourning Brooch with Blue Enamel
A late Victorian brooch with a large garnet carbuncle in the center surrounded by seed pearls. On the back is an engraving for ‘Reverend R Greene ob (obit) 8th, Aug 1873 Ae 45.
Condition: Normal antique wear, heavy oxidation to the gilt on the reverse, this can professionally be buffed out, wear to the foiling behind the garnet from age and possibly moisture
