Portrait Miniature of an Unknown Ancestor of the Family of Rev. Geoffrey Barrington Simeon (1848-1906)

This portrait miniature is set within a late Georgian era brooch. The identity is unknown but the miniature came from an auction lot and is linked to the Simeon family. Due to the folksy manner this portrait was painted in, it is likely a copy of an earlier work created for other members of the immediate family. 

The portrait is painted in watercolor and housed in a gilt brooch with a mother of pearl backing 

Condition: The bezel that would be set behind the mother of pearl is missing
