A cute and zany Essex crystal of a small dog appearing to be either a Chihuahua with the pointed ears, or a Doberman. Whichever breed, this is certainly an odd friend yearning to be added to someone's collection! 

Essex crystals are also called reverse painted crystals. These pieces are created by carving out space on the reverse of rock crystal. The artist skillfully paints an image which appears three dimensional, and is finished with a mother of pearl backing. It's a fantastic technique, with all sorts of animals and images having been created. We've seen ducks, foxes, tiny children, horses, wasps, boats, fish, buildings, and more!
