Antique Cameo Brooch

A large and exquisite three-layered cameo of a Bacchante, a priestess or female follower of the Greek god Bacchus. Masterfully carved from agate, you can see how the artist used the layers of the stone to create color in the headdress. This behemoth of a cameo was set into 18k gold and is surrounded by no heat Burma rubies with the exception of one that appears to be a replacement and is Burma heat.
